Our talented pianist and singer, Janis Nowlan, has been entertaining audiences for over three decades with her captivating performances that leave a lasting impression on all who attend.

Janis Nowlan's music career began at a young age, with her first professional engagement at just 19 years old. Since then, she has built a steady following as a solo performing artist, toured England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, and performed at the International Song Festival. Janis has also showcased her talents as a solo classical pianist in the world-renowned Steinway Hall in New York City and has given several live performances on WGBH Public Radio in Boston.

Janis Nowlan has recorded three albums, two of which were produced in Nashville and accompanied by her uncle, the late Grammy and Country Music Award-winning Trumpetist, Bandleader, and Author Danny Davis (Nashville Brass). Her first album was recorded at Nashville's Fireside Studio and included a song with lyrics and music she'd written herself, "Singin' It For You, " which became the album title. Janis' third album was recorded during a live performance of her show on Cape Cod.

Having established her name over a dozen years as a Cabaret act headline attraction at resort restaurants and clubs in Cape Cod and throughout the Greater Boston area, Janis moved to Philadelphia and formed the Janis Nowlan Orchestra, known later as the Janis Nowlan Band. As the bandleader of Philadelphia's award-winning Janis Nowlan Band, Janis consistently provided top-rated live music entertainment for weddings and events in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, DC, and New York.

Janis Nowlan Band was chosen as NBC America's 15 Best Wedding Bands, and they were awarded The Knot Best of Weddings every year from 2007 through 2019, as well as WeddingWire Couples' Choice/Brides' Choice every year from 2010 through 2019, with more than 200 five-star reviews. Janis Nowlan Band was also selected as the Presidential Inaugural Ball Dance Party Band in 2009.

After retiring her award-winning Philadelphia-based Janis Nowlan Band in December 2019 following more than thirty exciting and successful years as Bandleader, Janis moved to beautiful Southern Maryland to be closer to her family. She is now focusing on her first love, solo performance piano entertainment, and is thrilled to offer her talents to clients in her new hometown and beyond.
