At Great Photographer, we are a husband and wife team with extensive experience in wedding and portrait photography. Our journey began when Robert started photographing people at the age of 15 for his local newspaper in Indianola, Iowa. He continued to work at the newspaper during high school, trying out almost every job available. After high school, Robert attended college, where he worked for the Luther College Photo Bureau, photographing various groups including fraternities, sororities, and Boy Scouts. He even had the opportunity to work as the Official Photographer for the Iowa State Fair and had his photographs printed in national magazines and newspapers, winning several awards. Robert graduated with an Accounting degree but soon realized his true passion lay in photography. He decided to pursue photography full-time and opened his own studio in Ames, Iowa. Maureen, his wife, joined him in the business after they got married in 1999. She had previously worked in several studios and has also photographed hundreds of weddings alongside Robert. They have designed many hundreds of wedding albums together. In 2024, they decided to relocate to Foley, Alabama, and At The Beach Weddings became their new home. Robert is the main contact for brides and is skilled at logistics and scheduling, while Maureen is great at discussing decorating and color choices with brides. Together, they offer a unique and personalized experience for their clients, ensuring that every moment is captured beautifully.
