Accommodations and Atmosphere
The Governor's Inn, a historical building, offers a beautiful courtyard and a lovely atmosphere. The staff are accommodating and helpful, and the hand-written welcome notes are a nice touch. The inn has a charming swing in the back by the tree, and the next-door flower shop/botanical garden is a pleasant addition.
Food and Service
The food at the Governor's Inn is excellent, with a good selection on the menu. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff are friendly. The bacon-wrapped scallops are a highlight, and the scallop and steak tip dinner in a whiskey reduction is highly recommended. The hostess and server are pleasant, and the service is quick and efficient.

The Governor's Inn is a great venue for events and parties. The event coordinator, Lisa, is helpful and makes the process simple and stress-free. The prices for food, cocktails, and the hall are affordable, and the bartender is friendly and efficient. The customer service for checking into hotel rooms is decent, but could be improved.
Negative Experiences
Some guests have had negative experiences at the Governor's Inn. One guest was offended by a song played at a murder mystery theater event, which they felt was hate speech. Another guest was turned away at the door, despite the restaurant being empty, and felt that the approach was terrible.
