The inspiration behind Meraki Portrait came from a deeply personal place. Our founder, Alicia, lost her mother to cancer when she was just a teenager. The pain of losing her mother was immense, but it was the memories and the love they shared that kept her going. When Alicia got married, she realized how important it was to have those special moments captured. She felt lost without her mother by her side, but looking at her mother's portraits gave her peace and comfort. This experience led Alicia to understand the true value of photography and the importance of preserving those memories.

Alicia started Meraki Portrait with the goal of providing a similar sense of relief and comfort to her clients. She believes that every couple deserves to have their unique love story told through beautiful, authentic photographs. Alicia's passion for photography and her commitment to her clients has made her one of the most sought-after wedding photographers in the industry.

The Future

After seven incredible years of capturing love stories, we're sad to announce that we'll be closing our doors after the 2022 wedding season. This decision was not made lightly, but due to a personal situation, we feel it's necessary. Our founder, Alicia, will be dedicating her time to caring for her brother, who is battling Stage 5 Kidney Failure. We're grateful for the support and love we've received over the years, and we look forward to continuing to tell your love stories for as long as we can.
