The Caladesi Steel Band is a renowned traditional steel drum band from the Gulf Coast of Florida. Established in the mid-90s by Dave Holmstrand, Johnny Lowery, and Ignacio Marin, the band has been delighting audiences with their authentic steel drum music for over two decades.
Our Story
The Caladesi Steel Band has a rich history, dating back to the mid-90s when Johnny Lowery and Ignacio Marin started playing together. They were later joined by Dave Holmstrand, and the trio began performing at events all over Florida and the country. Their breakthrough came when they represented Busch Gardens at various events, including Nickelodeon, the Jack Harris show, and the Jack Hanna Show. The band's success continued as they became original members of the Tampa Bay Steel Orchestra, which featured in a series of pops concerts with the Florida Orchestra in 2005 and 2009.
