Our Story

Our journey began in 1968 when Doris Nixon and Gary Wright founded our organization with the mission to certify wedding professionals. Over the years, we have continued to innovate and adapt to the changing landscape of the wedding industry. Today, we are proud to offer two industry-recognized certifications: Certified Wedding Specialist (CWS) and Certified Wedding Planner (CWP).

Our Team

Our team is comprised of experienced professionals who are passionate about the wedding industry. Our team members have extensive experience in wedding planning, event coordination, and education. Led by our CEO, Jacqueline Vazquez, our team is committed to providing personalized support and guidance to our students. Our team includes:

• Jacqueline Vazquez, Chief Executive Officer, with over 20 years of experience in the event industry
• Lynda Fitch, Chief Operations Officer, with experience in numerous businesses in the wedding industry
• Pat Mahoney, Industry Liaison Coordinator, with thirty years of experience in the wedding industry and writing experience
• B.G. Wright, Chairman, with a legacy of serving the wedding industry
• Doris Nixon, Board Member Emeritus, with a vision for uplifting people and a legacy in education
• Michael Nolte, Board Member, with over 1,300 weddings planned and extensive experience in the industry
• Mrs. Kuzuwa, Board Member, a pioneer in introducing American-style weddings to Japan and a well-respected leader in the country

Our Reimagining program is an Experimental Development Period that offers a condensed, interactive online format with live and pre-recorded video elements. Participants will receive personalized support and feedback throughout the program. Upon completion of the program, students will receive their certification and have access to online resources and a community of like-minded professionals.

Graduates of our program will receive their certification and have access to online resources and a community of like-minded professionals. They will also have the opportunity to participate in our ongoing Business Support program, which offers personalized coaching and guidance.
