Double M Schuster Barn

At Double M Schuster Barn, we're not just a venue; we're a family that's dedicated to helping you create memories of your special day. Our story began with the establishment of the Double M Schuster Farm in April of 1983 by Mark J. and Margaret M. Schuster. Over the years, we raised our children on this farm, who were actively involved on a daily basis until we sold the cows in 2003. In 2007, a tornado strength wind destroyed the roof, but it was replaced, and the barn remained idle. However, it was on September 21, 2013, when our oldest daughter, Meghan, was engaged to Dennis Stanley, that the barn took on a new life and meaning for all of us. It was her wish to have her wedding reception on the family farm, and from there, the Double M Schuster Barn was born.

Our Venue

The Double M Schuster Barn is a 40' x 100' rustic event venue that can accommodate up to 225 guests plus a large catering staff. Inside the barn, the original corner granary has been converted to a prep room for catering service, complete with several refrigerators, a kegerator that holds two half kegs, a large sink area, and plenty of power to run your event. Surrounding the outside of the granary is a live edge 30' L shaped bar, crafted from a very large 165-year-old white oak tree from our woods. It was important to us to keep this age-old line tree as a permanent part of the farm. On top of the granary is a loft area suitable for additional tables and/or pictures. The lighting consists of two large wagon wheel chandeliers suspended by antique hay unloaders, two full-length strings of party lights that crisscross the ceiling, and additional lighting over and under the bar, all capable of dimming to your desired effect for dining or dancing.

Outside the barn, there's a large lawn area suitable for setting up a tent or just mingling with guests. Connected to the barn is a 75' deck made from white oak sawed from our own woodlot. Further back is a pond next to the woodlot, providing a beautiful private area for a wedding ceremony or just taking pictures with the breathtaking views of farm fields and hills in the background. We also have a plentiful two-acre lighted sod parking area conveniently located adjacent to the barn.

Guests are able to select a caterer of their choice, and if needed, we can recommend some that we have worked with. Just click on the VENDOR page, where you'll also find local DJ's, places to rent tents, florists, and bakeries, and more. Our venue now includes tables and chairs for your special event. In 2016, we installed restrooms in the silo, a large 16' gazebo, a separate bridal barn, and a road sign. We're looking forward to helping make your wedding or event - Special!
